GridPilot

AI power engineering for grid connection.

·Launched today

Hey we are Brian, Han and Ryan, founders of GridPilot.

Overview

GridPilot turns a short project description into complete engineering designs and ready-to-submit grid connection applications with 5% of the time and 10% of the cost.

The problem

Every energy and data center project must complete power engineering designs and submit grid connection applications before it can be built. Over 10,000 are stuck in that process today, and the number is climbing. It costs at least $1M per project, takes at least three months, and has a 90% deficiency rate. Three things drive that:

  • Judgment buried in repetition. Engineers turn project specs and utility rules into coordinated designs, calculations, and forms. Only a fraction of that is engineering. The rest is rebuilt by hand on every project.

  • Fragmented information. Reconciling equipment specs, drawings, project assumptions, and utility requirements that live across hundreds of files can take days.

  • One change creates dozens of updates. A single equipment swap ripples through drawings, calculations, and forms, and whatever gets missed comes back as a resubmission.

Our solution

GridPilot automates power engineering design and grid connection applications for energy and data center developers. Users provide a brief project description, and GridPilot generates the complete package: system designs, single-line diagrams, site maps, power flow analyses, and technical forms.

Everything stays connected. The repeated work runs once instead of on every project. Scattered specs, drawings, and utility requirements are reconciled in one place. And when equipment changes, every dependent drawing, calculation, and form updates with it, so nothing comes back as a resubmission.

24 hours instead of three months, and 10x cheaper than traditional consulting.

Prepare grid applications

Prepare grid applications

Submission-ready interconnection packages assembled from project documents, with forms, drawings, and supporting information already cross-checked against each other.

Generate engineering drawings

Generate engineering drawings

Single-line and three-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, substation layouts, and grounding plans, all coordinated so a change in one updates the rest.

Check compliance continuously

Check compliance continuously

Utility and ISO rules change constantly. GridPilot tracks them and re-checks every form, drawing, and spec against current requirements before you submit.

Vision

Expert judgment is too valuable to bury in paperwork. Today the people who can decide whether a project works spend most of their time rebuilding documents that could generate themselves, and 10,000 projects wait behind them.

GridPilot takes the engineering out of the critical path. Grid connection becomes a step rather than a gate, and the limit on how fast we build data centers and clean power moves back to where it belongs: steel, copper, and permits, not paperwork.

Team

Ryan Yang (CEO) –  5 years in the largest energy corporations, leading engineering and grid connection projects. 2 times AI startup CEO with $500k ARR. Having worked on both the utility and developer sides, Ryan wants to eliminate the repetitive engineering work that slows projects down.

Han Su (CTO) – Founder of VoceChat, a communication platform that reached millions of users. Brings ten years of AI research experience and was awarded a full scholarship to MIT. Han believes AI needs to reach traditional engineering workflows, where adoption has lagged far behind its potential.

Brian Yang (COO) – Worked at top energy corproates and VCs to invest in 20+ energy startups and supported over $1B energy infrastructure transactions. Founded two energy NGOs and three AI energy startups. After spending 10 years in energy research and investing,  Brian believes Faradon is the biggest business opportunity he has ever seen.
